Greatest Tuna Melt ever
I’ve never posted a recipe online before. I make some tasty things from time to time. Tonight I discovered the platonic ideal, the apotheosis if you will, of the Tuna melt.
I love the tuna melt for the same reason I love McDonald’s filet-o-fish, it’s breaks a culinary rule: don’t mix fish and cheese.
In any case here is my FIRE recipe for an open faced tuna melt.
Ingredients:
Texas Toast
Mexican cheese blend
Two cans of chunk light tuna
Kalamata olives (half cup, sliced)
Dill relish (quarter cup)
Capers (quarter cup)
Avocado oil (two tablespoons)
Mayonnaise (two tablespoons)
Sriracha ketchup (two tablespoons)
Ground pepper
Step 1: prepare Texas toast according to packaging instructions
Step 2: mix tuna salad well with the above ingredients
Step 3: cover Texas toast with tuna salad then cover the tuna salad with Mexican cheese blend
Step 4: broil in oven on high, set up the oven rack so it’s as close as possible to the broiler, an inch away if possible.
Step 5: once cheese begins to bubble turn off broiler, remove and enjoy.
You’re welcome internet. I’ve never been happy with a tuna melt I personally made before tonight, but this was awesome. My wife loved it as well.
